Implementation of subqueries in a relational database management system.

摘要

This thesis discusses the implementation of non-correlated subqueries into the MySQL relational database system. The types of subqueries that are added include FROM clause subqueries and WHERE clause subqueries. The EXISTS, SOME and ALL functions were also added to the software. Each of these changes was made by manipulating the query tree and not changing the MySQL backend.
