Developing intercessory prayer among Myanmar and Manipur immigrants in an Asian Baptist church.

This research project shows how intercessory prayer is so important for the believers of the local churches. The researcher hopes that believers should recognize the importance of intercessory prayer and may establish a strong faith and theological foundation on this project. The goal of this project is to make sure that intercessory prayer is a necessary requirement program for growing faith for the 21st-century Christians who live in a complicated society.;First, this research project proved that intercessory prayer is very effective prayer for the believers. Second, intercessory prayer changed the life of the church. Third, the members in the intercessory training showed by their faith growing that they were changed into Christ-centered life. Fourth, the participants indicated that intercessory prayer can bring revival in the church. Fifth, the participants committed their life to start intercession in the local church and decided to have fasting and intercessory prayer one day in every month. Sixth, the members decided to read the Bible in the early morning time with devotion.;For this research project, the researcher has studied historically, biblically, and theologically in various materials and literatures and proved that intercessory prayer has been practiced in the Church. The researcher conducted a program of intercessory prayer training for ten days in the Asian Baptist Church, Jenks, Tulsa, with twelve participants.;After conducting this training, he compared the results through the pretest and the posttest from the treatment group and the control group. The results of the test showed that the participants have been greatly changed in their life of faith. The study showed intercessory prayer is a very appropriate program in order to grow faith in the church and evidenced that this research training program gives a beautiful challenge for the church of the 21 st century. It was concluded from the results of the project that the only way of producing revival in the Asian Baptist Church is through intercessory prayer.
