摘要

The loss of a family member can greatly impact a child, leading to numerous emotional and developmental consequences. The purpose of this project was to develop a bereavement resource center for children and families, identify potential funding sources, and then complete a grant proposal to fund this resource center at Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach, CA. The resource center was designed to utilize bibliotherapy as a therapeutic intervention to foster resiliency and positive coping strategies among grieving children and their families. Funding for the project would be through A Little Hope, Inc. which would include the purchase of book cases along with culturally relevant story books, as well as age-appropriate informational resources for children and their families who have experienced loss, in order to help facilitate the grieving process. The actual submission and/or funding of this grant were not a requirement for the successful completion of this project.
