摘要

Training in professional psychology is a process full of challenges. Trainees must successfully gain specific competencies in the areas of academics, research, and clinical service delivery. Even under the best circumstances, the process is frequently difficult, time consuming, and financially draining. As such, some trainees fail to complete the program. Others are able to successfully meet the challenges of the training environment, developing skills, and learning to face new, even more difficult, challenges in their development as professionals. The current study identified factors that characterize trainees who successfully navigate challenges inherent in doctoral training in professional psychology.;KEY WORDS: Professional psychology, Training, Positive psychology, Flow, Stress.
