Total quality management and unique attention attached to cold supply chain managements especially with the vaccines distribution network at the health sector level remains crucial to many countries in Africa including Ghana.This study seeks to analyze major logistics challenges associated with cold medicines supply chain in the health sector of Ghana to examine the impact of this logistic challenge have on the product quality as well as the challenges within the cold supply chain system as its objective.The study further engages primary data gathering process through the use of field questionnaire with150populations across the cold medicine interest groups within the Ghana health sector,from cold medicine producer to the end-users.Mean kinetic temperature(MKT)and SPSS-Amos26version was used in analyzing the data where it was revealed that majority of cold medicine users in Ghana60years old or more,the highest cold workers are between the age26and30years old and either holds Senior Secondary Certificate or diploma but the most experience are the doctors or professionals and has been in the service for five years and above.The result again demonstrates negative significant of power supply program in Ghana on cold medicine storage and supply chain,FDA/PC checks negatively impact the smooth running of the cold supply chain but temperature alarm,refrigerator strength,power backup and routine facility maintenance has positive significant to storage and cold supply chain system.Generally,the WHO temperature storage requirement range of2℃-8℃among cold drug producers,suppliers and users in Ghana is low.The study finally recommends cold dealers to sign a performance agreement contract with the government in ensuring a regular power supply.It is also recommended to the policy-makers to assign a supervisory body that will oversee the functions of FDA and PC to promote the smooth running of cold supply chain activities in Ghana.This is unique and significant since it aims at revealing the major logistic challenges confronting cold supply chain and cold medicines quality with supporting recommendations which most previous literature lacks.
