基于英汉机译软件质量分析探讨中国机译软件的现状和发展

摘要

加入世界贸易组织之后，中国对外交流更加频繁。机器翻译软件在帮助人们克服彼此间的语言障碍、增进相互了解方面起着重要作用，发挥着省时省力、快速简便的优势。作为新世纪世界十大科技难题之一的机器翻译及相关领域研究的学术意义、应用价值和市场前景显而易见、人所共识。在美、德、日等发达国家，机器翻译已经形成很大的产业，并获得较普遍使用。考察我国机译软件的现状，我们感到并不乐观。虽然我们经过几十年的积累，形成了一些有一定研究实力的学术团体，但是与国外相比我们还是有着很大的差距，软件翻译质量还是不尽人意。 翻译软件所面临的最大问题就是解决翻译质量问题。虽然目前国内的翻译软件不下百种，也具有一定的实用性，一定程度地提高了人们的工作效率，但距离人们所要求达到的人工翻译的水准还有相当长的一段路要走。本文选取了目前国内两款比较有代表性的翻译软件雅信CAT2.5和华建多语译通V3.0，从词汇、歧义、转换三个方面分析了这两款翻译软件的译文质量，并与人工译文质量做了对比。试图通过对这两款软件译文质量与人工译文质量的对比分析，探讨一下中国机译软件的现状及阻碍机译软件发展的原因，并对未来机译软件的发展提出了一些个人的见解，希望能给有志于机译软件研发的研究人员一些启示。
