Objective To investigate curative effect that functional dyspepsia patients took Zhongyao. To observe the change of main symptoms accumulated points and blood plasma motilin on an empty stomach and electrogastrogram of these patients about prior-treatment and post-treatment and gastric emptying. To investigate the therapy mechanism that functional dyspepsia patients took Zhongyao.Methods To use own control methods, 31 instances functional dyspepsia patients selected randomly were given to symptoms accumulated points firstly ,after they stopped taking drugs that affect gastric acid secretion and gastric power for a week. Then to detect gastric emptying and blood plasma motilin and electrogastrogram of patients. After patients took orally Liuweianxiao caps. for two weeks, they were detected gastric emptying and blood plasma motilin and electrogastrogram and were given to symptoms accumulated points again.Results (1)When functional dyspepsia patients took orally Liuweianxiao caps. for two weeks, clinical symptom improved obviously and symptoms accumulated points reduced significantly than prior treatment.(2)The gastric electrical activity parameter of post-treatment compared with that of prior-treatment : basic frequency and main power increased significantly; N％ increased significantly; B％ and T％ reduced significantly.(3)The gastric emptying rate of post-treatment compared with that of prior-treatment : The gastric emptying rate for 2 hours and 5 hours increased significantly.(4) The blood plasma motilin on an empty stomach of post-treatment increased significantly than prior-treatment.Conclusion Liuweianxiao caps could improve cardinal symptom of functional dyspepsia patients significantly, promote gastric emptying, raise blood plasma motilin on an empty stomach, increase basic frequency and main power of electrogastrogram, make indiscriminate gastric electrical activity rhythm normal.
