高等职业技术学院英语词汇教学中的主要问题及对策研究

摘要

对于高等职业技术学院的英语教师来说,研究一下词汇教学中存在哪些主要问题以及如何解决这些问题是必要的,该文就是围绕这一话题而展开论述的,文章由五个主要部分组成.在第一部分里,作者讲述了词汇教学研究的背景,内容涉及词汇及其作用、前辈同仁对词汇教学所作的研究,然后根据高等职业技术学院英语词汇教学的特殊要求及学生的特殊性提出了这一观点:高等职业技术学院英语词汇教学值得研究.为了证实这一观点,文章第二部分讲述了作者对高等职业技术学院英语词汇教学现状所做的研究,通过一定的实验调查,发现这一方面存在两个主要问题需要解决:第一,教师缺乏有效的词汇教学方法.第二,学生词汇记忆方法陈旧,以死记硬背为主.要解决这些问题首先得找到一定的理论依据,因此,接下来作者从两个方面论述了如何从理论上解决这些问题:第一,利奇(Leech)指出,词有七种意义,词汇教学当然就包括这七种意义的教学.第二,原型是人们对世界进行范畴化的认知参照点,所有概念的建立都是以原型为中心的;概论是人认识世界的产物,是对事物本质的反映,概念是词来标志的,所以我们谈论词义离不开概念的形成过程.罗施(Rosch)认为,概念是由两个因素构成的:(1)原型或最佳实例;(2)范畴成员递属度.而原型起着核心的作用.词的概念结构包括两部分,一部分是以原型为中心的具有家族相似性的外延成员,一部分是对所有成员属性的概括.有了理论依据,作者接下来系统地论述了如何解决高等职业技术学院英语词汇教学中存在的这些主要问题,作者认为在词汇教学中,我们要给学生讲解一定的构词法知识;要注重文化内涵词的教学;要利用上、下义关系对词汇进行归纳以便于学生记忆;词汇教学要结合语境来进行;要讲解词语的搭配知识;同义词的问题值得注意;最后,一词多义现象也不容忽视.
