Synthetic forsterite samples were shear-deformed at 11 GPa, 1400℃ in the mul-tianvil apparatus. The deformation microstructures have been characterised by x-ray diffraction peak broadening and strain anisotropy analysis. The evolution of strain and stress are characterised as a function of the time duration of the high-pressure, high-temperature experiments.
