POWER BALANCE AND HARMONIC TUNING IN MICROWAVE PAs

摘要

In this contribution, starting from the power balance considerations, conditions for maximum efficiency in microwave power amplifier will be derived together with their practical implementation and limitations. Moreover, the influence of harmonic generation at the amplifying device input will be discussed, leading to guidelines for harmonic tuning effective implementation. Experimental tests are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.
