Description and analysis of some activities developed by the nurse in an intensive care unit applying the cognitive focus

The main purpose of this article is to demonstrate a description and an ergonomic work analysis in some activities developed in the nursery of an Intensive Care Unit with a cognitive focus. It was used French-speaking school of ergonomics methodology: Ergonomic Work Analysis (E.W.A.) when performing the analysis of the activities. Such activities were classified according to the architectural scheme of the cognitive process developed by Richard [4]. Some general ergonomical recommendations were delineated in this work to decrease the mental and physical workload in this important area of the hospital minimizing further psychopathologies affecting health professionals.
