Many standards predicted for thermal comfort are based on a static model. These standards prescribe anarrow band of temperature to be applied uniformly through space and time. For this reason manyresearchers are beginning to challenge the assumption of universality, arguing that ignores importantcultural, climatic, social and contextual dimensions of comfort, leading to an exaggerated assessment ofthe need for air conditioning.Considering these assumptions a detailed analysis is established to determine the limit of comfort for thehot dry climate (Desert) taking the Souf region of Algeria as a specific site for this study. The mainobjective is to define the limits of adaptation and acclimatization for hot climate, which are different fromthose of cooler climate.
