摘要

Low-temperature geothermal energy from the shallow ground is a promising andabundant renewable energy source with wide geographic distribution. The newtechnology presented utilizes this kind of energy to provide heating & cooling as wellas domestic hot water for buildings. The system works in a sustainable manner withhigh efficiency and provides cooling without evaporation, by utilizing the temperatureof groundwater which is far lower than the atmospheric temperature in summer. Sincethis technique emerged in 2001 it has attracted the attention of users and governmentagencies in China. This paper describes its principle and successfully operatingsystems in various parts of China.
