摘要

In this paper, we address the issue of synthesizing a 3D airway model from CT data. Such a modeling is needed for further studying fluid flow and parti-cle dispersion during bronchial stimuli inhalation, for therapeutic and pharmaceutical purposes. The model synthesis exploits the 3D geometry in formation provided by the central axis of the airway network reconstructed from the CT data. In this way, bronchial morphology related to branch length and orientation is preserved for each patient, only a di-ameter correction being necessary when dealing with some pathologies. The resulting 3D airway model is visualized by us-ing a surface rendering technique. Results are pre-sented and discussed for both pathological and non-pathological data.
