Specificity of Mining Technological System Development for Romanian Conditions

In the paper the Romanian mining industry's state of the art is analyzed in terms of available resources, technologies, and market demands in accordance with the national development strategies. The historical milestones of the Romanian mining industry are plotted, in order to extract the benefits of positive experiences and avoid in the future the bad decisions. The main characteristics of the mining technological context are summarized taking into account the main specific characteristics and trends of the topic. Starting from this analysis, and from the evolving trends of the topic in an international context, the main directions of future development of the main areas of the Romanian mining industry are drawn out: for coal, ore, non-metallic resources rationale valorization in terms of economical efficiency, environmental impact and risk management. The analysis is conducted towards the sketching of new technologies, equipment and managerial tools in order to ensure a healthy mineral resources industry appropriated to the scale, resources and needs of Romanian industry facing the problems of economical restructuring towards the market economy.
