Shendong Coalfield, with a demonstration coal reserve of 223.6 billion metric tons, is the biggest one in China. Its operation is of strategic importance to China's energy security and national economic development. Shenhua Group Cooperation Limited (abbr. as Shenhua Group hereafter) assumes the mission to develop and operate the Shendong Coalfield and its related projects. In recent years, Shenhua Group, depending much on renovation and scientific upgrading, has made great progress in building, producing and operating the Shendong Coalfield and its related railway, power plants, coal terminal and demonstration coal liquefaction plant, therefore has shaped a Shenhua Model for efficient development and utilization of coal resources. The overall economic and technological level in Shendong Coalfield has reached the world first-class in terms of the main economic and technological indexes standing second to none; meanwhile, power generation has developed very fast and coal liquefaction project steps forward smoothly.
