Blast Vibration Modelling in Sar Cheshmeh Mine

Sar Cheshmeh Copper Mine is confronted with stability and environmental problems caused by its improper geological and hydro-geological conditions. These problems will increase when mine depth increase until 800 m. The production blasts can aggravate again more mine situation. We decided to use the hybrid seismic method for modelling the time history of production blast vibrations and optimizing blast sequence to reduce vibration level in vicinity of mine. One single-hole shot for modelling and two double-hole shots for modelling validation analyzing were realized and generated vibrations were measured on 7 points with different distances and directions in relation to blasts. The results obtained present a good correlation between synthetic and measured seismograms. Production blast simulation shows that for Sar Sheshmeh Mine, blast realization with inter-row delay more than 40 ms can reduce significantly vibration level.
