摘要

Drill resistance method (Resistograph system) was applied to evaluate mechanical characteristics of small clear specimen of wooden components in this study. The results showed that the compressive strength perpendicular to the grain of small clear specimen has a strong relationship with the drill resistance by drilling in the same direction. This is the basis to evaluate the compressive strength of the wooden structure of historic buildings in advance.
