SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEMS OF'THE STREETCAR STOPS WITH NO SAFETYBARRIERS'

In Kochi prefecture, people's lives and regional activities are highly dependent on the roadtransportation, but the road extension rate remains low and the rapid rate increase isdifficult because of the cost. Under these circumstances, the streetcar has recently beenhighly regarded because it relieves congestion and is friendly to the environment. However,some streetcar stops remain unsafe for passengers ('the streetcar stops with no safetybarriers'). Therefore, through implementing the solution to the problems of such streetcarstops by using the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) technology, Kochi prefecture is nowtrying to ensure/improve the passenger's safety and convenience.
