This paper introduces a new XML-based [1] ITS-protocol for roadside ITS installations of theSwedish Transport Administration (STA). The RSMP (Road Side Message Protocol) enablesstandardized means of communication between systems on the local level and regional levelregardless of vendor or technical area.
