PLUG AND PLAY TRANSPORT CHAIN MANAGEMENT:A DISTRIBUTED APPROACH TO REALIZE THE FREIGHTWISE FRAMEWORK

摘要

A novel approach to efficiently develop and maintain effective transport solutions is presented. It provides user-friendly IT support for central tasks, such as, finding the best sequence of transport services for a particular goods transport. The approach is based on the FREIGHTWISE framework, is inspired by the concepts of virtual enterprises and breeding environments, and makes use of state-of-the-art technologies, such as, software agents. We analyse the requirements of such an approach and outline a software architecture meeting these requirements.
