The coating machine is key equipment in the food and pharmaceutical industry. This paper designs a kind of discharge blade for discharge of a coating machine. The proposed blade is composed of two sections, and they are installed inside a coating cylinder. In addition, the angle between the first blade and the horizontal plane has an influence on the discharging effect. This paper takes the discharge blade as the research object to study the discharge effect and we set five sets of angle data, then comparing the discharge effect under different angles through EDEM simulation analysis. The results show that the tablets could be completely discharged by discharge blade, the discharging time is about 20 minutes at 8 rpm, and the best angle of discharge blade is 55°. This discharge blade can be applied to actual production, and it can provide a reference for the development of coating machines.
