The paper presents and discusses the results of an experimental investigation on the seismic response ofsheathed cold-formed steel stud shear wall systems. Physical tests have been carried out on two,nominally identical, structural sub-assemblage, each of them composed by two sheathed stud walls. Oneprototype has been tested under monotonic loading conditions. The second one has instead been subjectedto stepwise increasing deformation cycles. The cyclic loading history has been inspired to the ATC-24 [1]testing protocol, but the deformation amplitudes have been defined in such a way to reproduce somecharacteristic values of deformation demand parameters found through a numerical analysis simulatingthe effects of 26 natural acceleration records.
