摘要

A method is presented for the estimation of the optimum values of the strength and stiffness properties ofreinforced concrete structural systems. For this purpose, use is made of seismic hazard and vulnerabilityfunctions for the site considered and for the types of systems of interest. The vulnerability functions areobtained by means of a probabilistic model based on a simplified reference system (SRS) associated withthe detailed model under study. The method is applied to a ten story wall-frame system. The properties(strength and stiffness) that result from the optimization analysis are transformed into performance-basedacceptance criteria for practical design conditions.
