The Tower of Pisa is back to the future

The increasingly hazardous inclination of the Leaning Tower of Pisa has been the subject of intense investigations in recent years. Past history has shown that any attempt to reduce the inclination has met with a contrary response from the Tower. On this occasion, however, it has been possible to "right" the Tower by half a degree. The inclination has been reduced to 5° a value equivalent to that from about 160 years ago.
