Baryon Production in Heavy Ion Collisions

摘要

Measurements at intermediate p_T (1.5 < p_T) < 5.0 GeV/c) indicate that baryon production increases more quickly with event multiplicity than meson production. The data at a variety of center-of-mass energies and for different colliding systems seems to indicate that multi-parton dyanamics are responsible for the baryon enhancement. Work presented at this workshop also suggest that hadronic interactions and corona production could be important for understanding the hadron-type dependence of particle spectra and elliptic flow at intermediate p_T.
