The Town of Cary Uses Dynamic Wastewater Collection System Modeling to Help Plan Infrastructure and Meet Interbasin Transfer Requirements

The Town of Cary uses dynamic sewer modeling to help plan infrastructure in its utility service area. The Town completed a project to update its wastewater collection system master plan in 2003. This project included development of a computerized dynamic sewer model. This model provides the Town with a powerful tool to plan long-term infrastructure capital improvements and to quickly compare alternate growth and infrastructure scenarios to help it meet rapidly changing service area needs, as well as regulatory and financial requirements.
