BIOTRICKLING FILTERS PLUS BIOFILTERS: A 'GREEN' APPROACH TO COLLECTION SYSTEM ODOR CONTROL

Two stage odor control facilities featuring biotrickling filters and biofilters provide a “green”rnsolution to collection system odor control. As an alternative to chemical addition, the City ofrnLos Angeles is installing seven biological odor control facilities in its collection system. Thernfacilities, which will be designed to treat H2S concentrations up to 150 ppm, will be chemicalrnfree, operator friendly, relatively maintenance free, and aesthetically pleasing.
