FUTURE PETROLEUM PRODUCTION FROM INDONESIA AND PAPUA NEW GUINEA

Deep-water areas and those areas surrounding future major gas-sales infrastructure projects are most likely to realize the highest potential for significant increased reserves and production in the short to medium term in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Enhanced recovery, deeper pool drilling, and frontier exploration also will be targeted. There will be a continued shift from oil to gas production as mature oil-producing areas are depleted. Large numbers of unexplored to lightly explored petroleum systems remain, particularly in frontier areas of eastern Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Conceptual unrisked volumes yet to be discovered total more than 20 billion BOE.
