A novel scheme for XGM wavelength conversion based onnsingle-port-coupled SOA has been achieved with improved extinction rationperformance. In wavelength upconversion between 1549.8 nm and 1562.6 nmnat 2.5 Gbit/s, the output extinction ratio can be higher than 15 dB.nTheoretical calculation shows that its extinction ratio and inputndynamic range are better than that in conventional schemes based onnidentical long and double long, double-port-coupled SOA
