EPA’s Community-Based Water Resiliency Initiative: An Important New Tool for Effectively Managed Utilities

The Effective Utility Management Steering Committee convened in 2006 to develop arnframework of attributes and management approaches that would help utilities meet their dailyrncompeting challenges more effectively and guide them in strategic planning. One of the “TenrnAttributes of Effectively Managed Water Sector Utilities” identified by the Committee isrnCommunity Sustainability. This attribute places the utility in a strong leadership role within therncommunity and encourages collaboration with neighboring communities and other utilities tornmaintain and enhance ecological and community sustainability and resiliency.
