Roughness and machining level difference were measured for evaluations to achieve high precision machining of the datum level of work material. The following conclusions were obtained by acquiring the cutting load from the main spindle, and measuring the machining level difference of the datum level of the work material to determine level difference patterns.rn(1) Based on the size of the L/D value, the machining level difference varied between 0.63 μm (maximum), 0.43 μm (minimum), and average 0.51 μm.rn(2) Due to rotation of the tool, difference in the cutter mark was seen, the greatest being by eight times.rn(3) The cutting load and gradient of the machined surface were proportional, and it was found that the gradient increased as the cutting load increased.
