Spectroelectrochemical Studies of Coenyme Q0 on Silver Electrodes Under Aerobic and Anaerobic Conditions

摘要

In order to gain more information about electron transport processes of quinones acting as biological electron acceptors, the 'model' Coenyme Qo and its reduced species (ubisemiquinone anions, ubiquinone dianions, ubiquinol anion, and neutral ubiquinol)were studied by in-situ UV-Vis spectroelectrochemistry. With employing these techniques, the unstable intermediate species have been reproducibly observed in aqueous and non-aqueous solutions. Coenzyme Qo shows typically two reduced peaks in non-aqueous solvents, which correspond to the sequential formation of the anion radicals and dianions.
