摘要

The demands on increase in train load and train speed on existing railway foundations means development of new methods to improve the judgement of the influence of the new design situation. From an economical and technical point of view it is important that the chosen solution will handle the new situation properly. The user of the railway net could demand that the improvement of the foundation should be performed with the track in operation. This means that new methods need to be developed to handle these situations. The geotechnical issues from the increase in load and speed are the possibility for strength degradation of soil and unfavourable behaviour of the track and embankment.
