Uncertainties in modeling of soil properties Incertitudes dans les modeles sur les caracteristiques des sols

Uncertainties of soil properties are accounted for with a probabilistic approach. Basic ideas of geostatistics are illustrated and discussed by examples from a test site. Easy-to-use formulas, to combine pre-knowledge with test results, are presented and an example is given. The application of the probabilistic concept in deterministic calculations is outlined.
