Tensegrity chandeliers for a shopping street in the Hague NL

Tensegrity structures are exciting structures to design, but the most complicated structures tornanalyze structurally and to build. They have become popular as works of art by Kenneth Snelson. They havernbeen used extensively as stabilizations of frameless glazing facades and roofs. One project design in The HaguernNL, contained three tensegrity structures, each with more than 250 tubes and 1500 cables to be connected asrnchandeliers above a crowded shopping street. It appeared to be an impossible dream. But the reasoning behindrnthe impossibility is interesting enough to be taken up for future design & build projects.
