Identification of Public Policy Research Applications in the Deployment of a New Air Transportation System Component

Congress has recently funded the development and demonstration of a Small AircraftrnTransportation System as a national initiative to be led by the National Aeronautics and SpacernAdministration. This comprehensive and innovative change in the general aviation operationalrnenvironment, within our national air transportation system, results in numerous issues of publicrnpolicy. Through the application of the policy research construct, identification of key publicrnpolicy issues and perspectives will result from long-term research application. Challenges forrnongoing research in this developing area of national transportation priority emerge in result.
