High-level synthesis transformations for programmable architectures

The application of high level synthesis techniques in connectionnwith highly programmable VLSI (very large scale integration)narchitectures is presented. Very early prototype realizations ofnsubcomponents of complex systems can be achieved for real-time test runsnif automatic synthesis is applied. The efficiency and applicability ofnthis approach will be demonstrated with realistic mechatronicnapplications and a rapid prototyping board based on FPGAs
