Optimization of a microgrid investment and operation: Energy saving effects and feasibility of ancillary service provision

This paper analyzes energy saving effects of a combined heat and power (CHP)-based microgrid by an optimal sizing of energy supply system and optimal planning method. We also present economic feasibility and potential amount of reserve provision by microgrids.
