We have demonstrated efficient and accuraternmethods to solve both dose and spectra forrnenergy-straggling problems. We have shown that thernpure discrete method is flexible in that morernmoments can be incorporated with ease to enhancernaccuracy, or fewer moments can be used to speed uprnthe simulation of positron and electron straggling.rnWe have also shown that the hybrid method is veryrnaccurate for thin slab problems. Finally, we are in thernprocess of implementing our moment-preservingrnmethods in MCNP to test them in realisticrngeometries and in the presence of scattering.
