Design analysis of interior and exterior noise

This paper presents methods for modelling and assessing the acoustic environment inside andrnoutside rail vehicles, and in railway infrastructure such as stations.rnThe main focus is on computer modelling using geometrical acoustics (ray-tracing) withrnfurther remarks on the use of statistical energy analysis for vehicle structures, finite elementrnand boundary element acoustic models and some similar special methods for local models ofrncomponents and construction details such as floor and trim panels.rnVarious examples show how the methods can be used in practice.rnIn the aural presentation, some synthesized (predicted) acoustic samples are replayed.
