摘要

On the basis of a case study, we present the integrated changes in greenhouse gas emissions of co-fermentation of animal manure with organic wastes in the Netherlands. Co-fermentation offers multiple reduction of emissions of CO_2, CH_4 and N_2O and efficient use and recycling of N, P and K. Two scenario's both with low and high estimates of parameters were used. A emission reduction of 0.6 - 1.5 Mton CO_2-equivalents can be achieved in the short term. In addition, losses of valuable nutrients in Dutch agriculture can be reduced by replacing mineral fertilizers with tailor-made fertilizers from co-fermentation. Integral Quality Management may help to utilize the full potential of the technology and reduce environmental and sanitation risks.
