Secondary Osteoporosis

Based on the limited knowledge of the past, definitions of primary and secondary osteoporosis were simple or simplified: In cases with primary osteoporosis, except aging and the menopause (which happen to all women, also to those who do not develop osteoporosis) no other cause for the disease was evident. In contrast, secondary osteoporosis seemed to be a clear condition of e.g. glucocorticoid excess, hyperparathy-roidism or others.
