摘要

Conductor's Galloping and Vibration in overhead lines usually cause air breakdown between conductors on different phase. More than twenty examples of power system failure was caused by Conductor Galloping and Vibration during the last ten years in China. How to effectively avoid air breakdown under Conductor Galloping conditions becomes a hot topic in China. This paper presents a mathematical model to control Galloping of overhead lines by hanging composite silicon spacer, between conductors on different phase. The theoretical research work includes how to design insulation distance and mechanical performance of spacer, where is best position to hang spacer for different span of overhead lines, and how many air distance remainder between different phase conductor even under Galloping conditions after using spacer. The analyze results of this paper is adopted by the actual overhead line in North China, which line always has Galloping phenomenon one times in every two years.
