Generality for Precision Agriculture and Practice in China

As the result of information technology application in agriculture, precision agriculture is a feasible approach for sustainable agriculture. This paper gives a primary summary of precision agriculture for China and a brief introduction of the practice in China. By summarizing the researches and conceiving on precision agriculture, this paper explains the generality of precision agriculture for which aims to provide the reference and gist for those who are interested in. The generality includes concept, composition, classification, methodology and the technology systems of precision agriculture. Precision agriculture technologies are regarded as three parts: the fundamentals, the engineering and the supporting. The fundamentals are composed of index system for precision invest, technology integration, digital and virtual technology. The engineering technologies are composed of 3S, data collecting and analyzing, artificial intelligence and automatic control technology and machinery. The supporting technologies include information managing system, Internet service, and electric trade. This paper also gives the strategies to construct precision agriculture in China, introduces some researches and conducting cases to show the progresses in China.
