Construction of Information Resource and Database on Pesticide and Pest Control

Taiwan Agricultural Chemicals and Toxic Substances Research Institute (TACTRI) is responsible to technical support the regulatory control and registration of pesticides, assist pesticide manufactures in improving their production process, supply high-quality pesticides, and develop new formulas to increase the efficiency of agricultural production, assist other national research institutes and farmers by conducting pesticide research and developing plant protection techniques that will help to insure safe, economical and effective use of pesticides on Taiwan. For the establishment of information system and database, TACTRI concentrates efforts on pesticide and pest control, including the information of pesticide residue, pesticide toxicity, pesticide specification and analysis method, bio-pesticide, diagnosis of crop pest, and pesticide registration, usage and regulation in Taiwan. Such as information system of pesticide registration, standard analysis method of pesticide specification, image system of pesticide labels, image management system of pesticide registration, pesticide information system of pest control, diagnosis system of crop pest, Taiwan information system of Plant health, special topics of pest control, pesticide retailer management system etc. Through the web site, on-line database, CD-ROM, TACTRI distributes the information and service to the local farmers, extension workers, pesticide retailers and researchers.
