Adhesion durability of anticorrosive coatings for concrete

Three new adhesion durability tests were used to evalute the effecs of several environmetnal factors (temperature, humidity, freezing and thawing, backwater pressure) on the adhesion of anticorrosive coatings to concrete. The new tests were; direct 1 hot water immersion test for high temperature in summer; direct 2 freeze-thaw durability test for low temperature in winter; and direct 3 pressurization test for backwater. In the hot water immersion test, the adhesive srength was decreased and some blistering and scaling phenomena appeared by the actions of tmeperature and alkali or water. However, in the freeze-thaw durability test, such phenomena had not been observed, because there was a difference in the effect between temperature change and freeze-thaw action. In the pressurization test of backwater, differences in the adhesive strength between the coatings were not found. One of the reasons for this is that the pressurization time was no longer enough to affect the adhesive strength.
