The variations of the glass transition temperature (T_g) and the microhardness (H_m) with composition, for the Ge_xS_(98-x)Cd_2 and Ge_xS_(93-x)Cd_7 families from the glassy Ge-S-Cd system is investigated and discussed. The observed peculiarities in the property-composition relationships at a fixed value of the average coordination number, Z ≈ 2.7, are attributed to the existence of chemical ordering effects. They are observed both in amorphous films and in bulk samples of this system.
