Basis for an integral malfunctions analysis in thermomechanical systems

Malfunctions in thermomechanical systems could be classified into two categories (Royo,1994),Intrinsic and Induced.The term intrinsic refers to the internal deterioration of the component; an the term induced when it is operating out of guarantee conditions.Both catagories could be characterized by means of their internal parameters (isentropic efficiency,pressure ratio,etc.).
