According to the definition of coefficent of performance (COP) of heat-pump heating syste,this paper propsoeds an alternative index which is referred to as equivalent coefficent of performance (ECOP).This index enables us to easily calculate and analyze the fuel consumption rates (b_h) of the cogeneratied heating systems,and compare CHP with the other heating systems on a reasonable basis.It is shown,that the electric heat-pump heating system may be justified if users are located far from the cogeneration plant.And in some cases the boiler group heating systems are also reasonable.
